>Hi
>i have known i have had a problem for quite some time now and it has really been getting me down. Im 19 and still a virgin as i have been worried how a girl would react to a unusalle penis. I finally got the courage to toalk to someone about it the other day and i talked to my sister. I have now made an appointment at my doctors.
>I cannot retract my foreskin. When flaccid it goes back but gets stuck and is quite difficult to get it back. When errect i can only expose a little of my head. I get a white band of hard skin when i try to retract which is really tight. When i was about 6-7 i can remeber being taken to the doctors and the doctor pulled my foreskin back until it bled.

I too had problems of this nature at the age of 6-7 because my mother's kindly old gp had told her circumcision wasn't necessary (it isn't, of course, but if you then turn up with a foreskin or frenular problem you'd certainly better be prepared to take remedial measures of some sort, as you now plan to do, at the age of 19. All the best to you. Btw, while I was undergoing this pain, suffering and embarrasment, most of my peers were happily growing up without foreskins like 90 million of today's US male population (or with dorsal slits, which freed them from penile problems while they kept their foreskins). I've never been grateful for having been free to decide for myself. Being totally ignorant of the existence of foreskins would have been immensely preferable, in my opinion. I've never missed mine, nor have any ladies I've passed time with expressed regret at its absence.

>After trying streching with no success i realise i may need to lose a bit of skin.
>Now i have made my appointment i am quite worried at what is going to happen. What is the waiting time generally for circumsions? I have been told now some doctors can perform the operation in the surgery. Would a partial circumsion be an option?

A partial circumcision would be an option if it totally freed you of the need to stretch, as would a dorsal slit. A sympathetic physician can be helpful here, if you're lucky enough to encounter one.

>How long does it normally take to heal? I am going on holiday in a montsh time and i dont want to be walking round in pain whilst im there.

If my experience is typical, pain is a very minor consideration; the main problem is finding the patience to keep track of the wound and look after it while it heals. (This is not difficult, just repetitious and boring, unless you get pleasure out of looking at your healing wound.) It should be for the most part healed after two weeks, and certainly after three weeks, but it may take a month or a little more for your feeling to return to 'normal' down there, but it will!

>Sorry about the long winded post it has taken me a long time to get the courage to post

When a guy has a problem such as you've described, it's just as well to screw your courage up to the sticking point (in the Shakespearian sense) and post. No-one will think the less of you for having done so, and anyone here who can help will do so while wishing you well. As I've already said, All the Best!
