As an answer to: A few points, PaulB... written by AJ at 15 May 2002 01:44:43:
>>A "partial" circumcision is a somewhat deceptive term. Probably a more correct term is a "loose" circumcision, as it leaves some of the foreskin
>A more correct term would be "partial circumcision". A more pleasant term would be "foreskin trimming".Whyfor the euphemism, AJ? It's a (very) loose circumcision, not more, not less.
>>If you really, really want to go for surgery, you want a "dorsal slit" or "preputioplasty" which latter is simply a dorsal slit designed to look totally "natural".
>I doubt that anyone really "wants" to have surgery, PaulB. Sometimes it's just neccessary. We see that the Kenalog and the stretching does have an effect. Where is the necessity?
>>But your difficulty would be to find a surgeon who is competent to do this, rather than a "standard" mutilative (ablative) procedure.
>Hardly, PaulB, ask any doctor and they will tell you that a dorsal slit etc are extremely common solutions for resolving similar conditions.Maybe in England. Not in the USA. Neither really in Australia I believe.
>>Surgery is for the impatient - hey, if you're impatient, then sexual sensitivity doesn't matter to you anyway!
>The loss of "sexual sensitivity" is extremely tiny (if at all), and is usually offset by having a functioning, pain free penis which allows direct stimulation of the goods. In your short term yes, AJ, you might not notice any reduction of sensations. Good for you. One year is nothing, compared to the decades of those who had to have their prepuce forcefully separated from the still developing glans because of the weirdest practice of humanity.
About the direct stimulation of the goods... It seems the foreskin has absolutely no value as of having feeling in it, in your eyes. I should mention, the direct stimulation of the inner foreskin provides a lot more feeling than the glans, having tested mine in the last some sixteen years.
