I do appreciate your advice - thanks (although I wouldn't call my phimotic ring an "essential part"! In fact thanks to everyone for taking the time to post!

And I'm willing to give this cream a shot for the 3 months the doctor suggested. I wouldn't go for a partial circ before then.

Still not so sure about the stopper - I think tiny tears caused problems with my failed stetching attempt many years ago - don't want a repeat of that. Maybe something softer with a bit of give to it - maybe something made out of a firm foam - will have to ponder this ..
