The proper term is frenar band, not phimotic ring.
The cream will work only with stretching, not by itself.
Whatever you try in the way of a device, be sure to use a lubricant. That will prevent tears.
Over the course of my experimentation with various devices, I did encounter some irritations and even minor cuts. They are just minor setbacks and nothing to worry over. If you are in good health, everything heals quickly.
