Mark, you've already had it there for years. Did it cause any infections in all that time?
Don't worry about paraphimosis. If you pull the foreskin back too far, just grab the loose skin behind it, and pull that skin over the glans. The tight skin will come over with it. It isn't going to swell immediately.
