So what is this BXO and what are its implications?
>Well, your posting contains a series of sad lessons that I probably don't need to re-iterate, as you have illustrated them only too well, but the first is: Do not attend a urologist (surgeon) for a skin condition!
>As such, I was reluctant to reply, but our chronic heckler, "AJ" has joined the fray, and perhaps some balance is now in order.
>I think it is fair enough to say that - sadly, Kevin, it is "AJ" that really doesn't give a monkeys about you and your condition and his comments are certainly not helpful in the least. "Misery loves company" as they say, and he is deliriously happy that you have had a circumcision, as he did, but unfortunately, he certainly can't offer any advice applicable to you at all. Caring is not exactly "in his bag".
>The link to which he refers you appears to be moderately sensible, except that it itself refers you to one particular link at CIRP, an excellent site in itself, and is obviously copied from that link, however this fails to show you the parent link which of course, gives a far more balanced view, and which indeed may be much more useful to you.
>In summary, you have been instructed to apply a steroid cream to the disease. I think you may have to accept that you do have a disease of the penile skin, and that this is the most well documented medical treatment for it, and run with it.
>> why does my penis swell all around the incision area after surgery?
>Well, that would to some extent be expected, though it would generally settle down at three months. However the area appears to have another disease viz.- the BXO - present and perhaps this is contributing to the swelling. I am not sure exactly how the swelling, as such, is really affecting you, but again - perhaps you should use the steroid and see.
