I'll answer the second, first. The operation to "correct" it consists of firstly "circumcising" the penis (but without actually removing any of the skin), the skin being pulled back down to the base of the penis so that the corpora cavernosae (erectile bodies) are exposed. Then a small ellipse of the top of each corpus cavernosum is excised and each gap sewn together.

Finally, the pulled-back skin of the penis is pulled forward again and sewn back to the collar of the glans (penis head). Very much as I say, like a circumcision except that no skin is removed and it is done merely to get at the tunica (shell) of the erectile bodies. The result of the wedge resection is that the top side of the penis is shortened, correcting the bend downward with a bend upward (and of course, shortening it slightly).

And for those who might be (really) curious, the reason that two pieces are taken out of each side of the upper surface, is that the nerve which is responsible for the sensation in the glans, runs down the middle - and you wouldn't want that cut, would you? {:-(}

Now, is a bending-down penis a bad thing or not?

I'd suggest that you try it out {actually, I'd be extremely surprised if you hadn't "shop-tested" it quite a bit already; the "road test" perhaps comes(!) later} and then decide. Suffice to say, that it might just mean that some things some couples don't find so easy and enjoyable, you will and just maybe the "common" ones won't be quite as fun and easy for you. But there is still no reason why you shouldn't have a super time finding out.
