Frenectomy/Tight Frenulum

I was circumcised years back and my frenulum was kept in place. It has always been tight light a banjo string and easily irritated. Now it tears during sex and I bleed all over the place - NOT VERY ROMANTIC! I went to a urologist yesterday who said there was nothing that could be done.

I was under the impression the frenulum could be removed. I have seen other circumcised guys that don't have any banjo string and it smooth just under the base of their glans. I am right aren't I?

Anybody else had a similar situation? I am going to another urologist next week. Any ideas if he says there is nothing he can do?
