Yes, it is possible to get a baby a partial circumcision. However, I think it is harder to gauge exactly how much skin should be removed to achieve the desired results once the baby has grown up. On an anti circ site, there is a document that describes that a large proportion of babies left with some foreskin will outgrow it by the time they are aged 3.
Foreskin length may be hereditary, but you won't really know if the newborn will inherit your foreskin or you wife's (clitoris have foreskins too). This is especially true if you were circumcised as a baby since you'd have no idea of the type of foreskin your genes have.
