>So, he was a bit of a "drop-kick" on two counts then, wasn't he? Firstly on claiming you had to be circumcised, presumably with the implication you couldn't have sex unless you did, and secondly for suggesting an operation rather than a cure.
>> My girlfriend also asked me to get circ'ed,
>Could you explain just why she would say this?
I think it's because she's only been with circ'ed guys before
I've talked to her, and she's just worried that this will cause
me pain during intercourse. She's perfectly ok with it if it
doesn't cause any pain.
>> However, I cannot pull the skin all the way down the shaft while erect. It only goes a bit of the way, causing an hourglass effect.
>Uncomfortable or not?
>> and my girlfriend was very pleasantly surprised :)
>Just how pleasantly? I am presuming that you actually have sex with her, so do tell - exactly what problems did or did not this "phimosis" cause, given that it seems you were not even aware of it until you saw the doctor?
No, I've not had sex with her. We've masturbated each other, though. She was
surprised because she didn't know that phimosis could be 'fixed' through
stretching, and had suggested earlier that I get circ'ed. Now that she sees
progress, she is very encouraging in my stretching exercises.

>> My question is whether it will help for me to sleep fully retracted (with a condom on) and let natural erections stretch the skin for me.
>I can see good and bad points. How are you going to keep the condom on for starters, given what you say following? How uncomfortable is an erection in this situation?
>> I have had difficulty so far in putting stoppers, etc. in... they just don't stay put, even with tape.
>If they do not stay put, where do they go? In or out? Does the tape detach? Are they long/ deep enough to have part outside and part inside, with the tape holding to the outside part?
They go out. I find it difficult to stretch the foreskin, insert the dilator,
and tape it properly at the same time (not enough hands). I've read posts here
where you're supposed to roll back the foreskin and then roll forward, with
the foreskin goes over the dilator, but mine rarely does, unless the dilator is
really small. Otherwise, the elasticity is too tight, and it quickly snaps down
on the glans. Maybe some step-by-step instructions would help.

>I'm not sure this avenue is so simply dismissed. Why am I enthusiastic about it? Well, for one, erections are common whilst asleep, but a dilator can be there all the time (particularly when awake - and most people spend more time awake), and also, you need to over-stretch a bit to get the most rapid effect and the desired laxity.

Thanks for all the feedback & encouragement from this forum... :)
