It's almost certainly just that it's rarely been exposed to urine, underwear, etc. I expect it will be fine in a few weeks.

ps I think it's terrible that someone like Alex comes to this board requiring help, and everyone has a go at him. I was never sure whether Paul B was a doctor or not, but now we can see it doesn't matter -- whether he is a doctor or not , the fact that he takes delight in someone's discomfort, shows us the kind of person he is.
