>Not to make too fine a point about thinning as such, but making the skin more stretchable might on the one hand weaken the adhesion and help them part - but it (steroid) may not penetrate very deeply and would thus be effective only at the parting edge of the adhesion at any given time.I agree, by the logic it should be easier, not "hinder".
I already posted here (in a response to AJ) that some brazilian docs. tried a new enzime (hyaluronidase) together with betametasone successfully for the treatment of phimosis (adhesions). Have you heard anything about this enzime?>On the other hand, it may tend to cause the skin to stretch more than the adhesion. But this is not a real disadvantage in any case, since it still works toward the goal of a mobile and retractile foreskin.
>> If there is thrush as you have suggested, would the use of it not be contraindicated?
>Indeed - if that is the suspicion, an anti-thrush antifungal such as Clotrimazole or Miconazole (etc. - imidazoles) should be used, but it can be used as well as the steroid.Sorry but I don't know what thrush means. Do you have another word?
>> You have suggested also that a short frenulum would have prevented the normal separation, but the subject has stated that it was previously separated, only lately becoming stuck.
>I'm not sure he is actually saying that. Presumably he will explain, but perhaps it retracted before, but it was still stuck even at that stage. To be honest, I just don't remember. But from what I can recall, my foreskin retracted even when erect and I believe it was a normal penis. But this was 10 years ago. Then it started to be dificult to retract. After that, for about 7 or 8 years I don't remember retracting my foreskin and this was the period when, I believe, the skin attached solidly to the glans.
