Ah, well, I didn't mention that I'm from the UK.
We have an NHS, so profit doesn't really come into it for the doctor. Plus, at the slightest mention of circumcision the current stance of most British doctors is 'Not unless absolutely necessary (ie the foreskin is causing infection or not allowing urination)'. When I mentioned the idea of circumcision to the specialist, he said 'It's not something we do for cosmetic reasons. Unless the tightness of the foreskin is leading to physical or psychological problems, it's not a good idea'.
I was shocked to hear how casually the circumcision is prescribed over in the US, but then again my parents said that when I was a baby the doctors advised it for me, but they refused. Obviously attitudes vary from place to place and time to time.
