Ned, the type of diabetes which in not insulin dependent is type two. Type One diabetics produce no insulin at all. Your pancreas is still producing insulin, but your body is unable utilize it.
Have you altered you diet? That's crutial in getting a better handle on your situation. It is also advisable to get that weight down. Do some research and find a doctor who is highly experienced in treating diabetes, someone who has had results. It sounds like all of your problems are stemming from the diabetes.
