> I was referred to him (urologists) for problems I'm having which I mentioned on one of my posts.Did I miss that? Your case sounds worse and worse! Poor mobility - wheelchair - self-perpetuating spiral ("death grip") of weight gain causing increasing immobility and (multiple) disability and poor diabetic control, thence weight gain.
Jim has it all pegged. Type II diabetes, which at onset is not insulin-dependent but becomes so later, is an inherited predisposition that becomes evident due to the combination of advancing age and obesity.
> The urologist blamed this BXO as the cause for the trouble I have in my nether regions,as he put it,
That term in itself indicates a less-than-serious approach to your problems, including lazy diagnosis.
> funny thing I didn't have any thrush 10 years ago.
Of course not. You didn't have uncontrolled diabetes then. Incidentally, the "fissuring" or cracking of the foreskin is almost diagnostic of Thrush (except maybe when it's BXO! ;-).
> I have asked the doctor about balantitis (sp?) but he is insistent on a circumcism, he reckons get rid of it and end the problem.
He figures your sex life is dead already, so it doesn't matter - you won't be needing it!
> The diflucan was actually prescribed by my wifes doctor, it hit things on the head for a while,As indeed it should. It is the "ultimate" cure - but you will need it for as long as your diabetes is out of control - however long that is!
> my own doctors say's diflucan is for women, as it cause some problems in men?
Sorry, you've got me - I don't know about that one, will have to research the thing further (maybe at work. I'll look it up - if I remember, though I imagine most of it is on the 'web too). Why don't I know? Because it is sufficiently expensive to be relegated in this country to specialty use for HIV/ AIDS and such serious cases who already have more troubles than Speed Gordon and more things to worry about than whether it shrinks their testicles. Sadly, but honestly, it begins to sound as if you may be in that category also.
> One thing I forgot to mention, every time I get anti biotics I end up with thrush.
No surprise. You'll have to use an antifungal - maybe the Diflucan, every time you use an antibiotic - and maybe all the time.
> Can you confirm that diflucan is suitable for men, I want to tell my doctor about the advice you give me,hopefully it will change his mind.
That's a big ask! The latter, not the former! It's all a matter of priorities, and different docs see it different ways. I for example, have a beef with doctors who hand out full-size benzo scripts like water, but that's my hobby horse.
I'll see what I can dig up.
