Wow, such vitriol, and he was just pointing the way to get started and to get more information to a youth who had on his own expressed an interest. And all he actually told the fellow to use was tape (and anyone who pays attention he was referring to surgical tape - i.e. meant to go on human skin). That compares to the recommendation I heard recently to cure warts by sticking a piece of duct tape over it and leaving it for a couple of weeks. But that was on a report on National Public Radio a few weeks ago, interviewing an M.D. who had conducted a comparative study between that method and freezing them off, and found a better long-term result (i.e. less recurrence). And yes it was published (peer-reviewed). If duct tape on the skin is sufficiently benign, it does not seem that surgical tape is such a dangerous suggestion. What is it that you object to about this advice, other than the possibility that someone will have a properly protected and healthy glans? Why does this advice make Jim dangerous?
