Well, there are several reasons to listen without having personal details of Jim's life. First, he frequently cites to well-documented sites, where one can get an encyclopedic treatment of the subject, along with the citations to research materials to show that it the information is neither kooky now fetichistic. Second, the advice he gives never advocates anything dangerous, i.e. involving cutting, or abrasion, or chemicals not tested for the delicate areas of the body. Third, the advice he gives is not self-interested, beyond a wish for people's well-being, as opposed to those who either seem to seek personal contacts or who get off on descriptions of other people's particular bodily conditions or procedures. Fourth, the things he advocates cam be easily stopped if they prove uncomfortable or the results unwanted. Fifth, similarly, if someone tries Jim's advice as an alternative to circumcision, the option of amputation is still there, but once one amputates, one can only poorly mimic a foreskin by so-called restoration. And finally, whatever Jiom might tell us about himself personally would have no more credibility than anything else on the web: there's a lot of BS on the web, and you have got to consider the arguments and information on their own, verifying as much as possible, and learning who to trust. Indeed, one of the problems with this forum as opposed to a properly moderated forum is that anyone could sign themselves 'Jim' and you wouldn't know if it is the Jim who gets pestered by AJ/Tara, et ilk.
