Who told you that you have balanitis? Balanitis xerotica obliterans forms a white, scarlike plaque on skin and you have only reported a "red sollen" (swollen?) condition.

A red, inflamed foreskin may indicate an infection, which are often caused by harsh soaps, which often kill helpful bacteria, causing an infection. Foreskin infections are extremely rare but a simple treatment is antibiotic ointment along with bacterial replacement with, yes, a simple yogurt culture. Doctors would never amputate a foreskin because of a simple infection caused by washing with soaps. Wash your foreskin with only clear water for a time and see if that helps.

Live yogurt culture applied to the opening of your foreskin and eaten several times a day should also help overcome your foreskin's resistance to retraction. Keep away from high sugar usage, too, as it helps destroy the natural balance of skin bacteria.

If you want more information about these ideas, see: Birley HD, Walker MM, Luzzi GA, Bell R, Taylor-Robinson D, Byrne M, Renton AM: "Clinical features and management of recurrent balantis; association with atopy (allergies) and genital washing. Genitourin Med. October 1993; 69(5):400-403

Let us know how you are getting on, and explain, perhaps, in more detail your symptoms.
