But on another site, a doctor warned that vinegar would tend to kill friendly as well as unpleasant microbes, such as yeasts. The goal is to get a sufficient population of the good guys to keep the nasties in check. Perhaps vinegar first, then yogurt (plain, not fruity or sweetened).
