As an answer to: Sensitive Glans AGAIN !!! written by Rich at 09 Dec 2002 01:31:51:
Rich, I hope you don't mind presumption but I'm going to dissect your post so that I can address you points/questions individually...
>Hey all,
>Well, I guess I am paranoid thats all! Being a gay man who is exposed to lots of concerns about the penis, I hope you can understand my anxiety. As a non-gay guy, I can appreciate where you are coming from. It doesn't matter if you are gay or straight, Rich. A guys dick, regardless of sexuality, is generally his best friend (who ever told you a dog is mans best friend is lying).
>I have seen many porn films, with the guys touching their glans, stroking and caressing them, and this for me is just food for thought, and fear that it is never going to be a reality.
In one of your previous posts someone made a reference to your desire to have contact with the head as a "fetish". This suggestion is waaaaaaay off base. The fact is that most men with a functional foreskin have regular contact with the head of the penis, either from masturbation or during sex. It's not a "fetish" or wierd thing to do. It's just the pleasure center of your dick and we men want it stimulated and touched!!!
>I CAN'T even pluck up the courage to get a blow job, and I'm sure you will understand that at the age of 24, having not experienced this, you will understand my concerns.
Damn right. If it hurts then it's obviously not something you will be looking forward to.
>The truth of the matter is that I am totally and utterly petrified that full sex is never going to happen, unless I have some kind of surgery!
If your foreskin is functional i.e retracts, then surgery probably isn't neccessary.
>I can't (as you can probably imagine) even pluck up the courage to go to my doctors, for fear of shame, or being addressed with a puzzled look.
Going to the doctors is always embarrassing when going about your problems with your privates. As for the puzzled look: If he knows what he is talking about then you should get some information as to what you can do to resolve it, or he can refer you a specialist for suggestions. I know from experience that some doctors really don't have a clue when it comes to the penis and that's why it is important you see someone that does (my doctor thought it was perfectly acceptable for me to have a non-retractable foreskin and frenulum that caused me pain when erect.
>Will I have to have surgery, or DO men suffer from not being at all able to touch their glans?
Again, surgery probably won't be neccessary if you have a functioning foreskin - I doubt there's anything would accomplish. If, however, your foreskin doesn't retract and stretching isn't working then you might want to consider surgery.
>Can anyone refer me to someone who could give some free advice over the internet, ie a penis specialist or something?
Rich, the internet is full of people that are arm-chair doctors that think they know what is best for you. This internet is crawling with them - especially where the foreskin is concerned. The truth of the matter is that because most men don't ever encounter your problem, then they don't ever think about it.
>I am just so worried.
>Many thanks,
>Rich - UKI had a partial circumcision last year to resolve a long standing problem with a tight foreskin and frenulum last year. After surgery when the head was exposed for the first time in 25 years it was hyper-sensitive and painful to the touch. After a couple of weeks of exposure it calmed down and is now great and extremely happy with it. I'm not saying you need a partial circ, just that it will take some time, but with exposure the problem does go away.
Hope this helps.
