Hi Rich

Surgery might not be your best choice here. In an earlier post you said, “I also am not able to retract the foreskin fully back, although stretching techniques are working wonders, so I'm not too bothered about that! It's just that I can't touch the head of the penis when exposed at all!” This was on 21st November.

It seems that progressive stretching is working, but your glans is still hypersensitive. Maybe you just need to grasp the nettle. Coat your hand with spit, KY, or baby oil, pull your foreskin back, and – gently - squeeze your glans. Ahh! The agony! But you are squeezing gently so you know you are not doing any damage, and that pain is generated because this part of your body has not yet learned to react with indifference to friendly touch.

Squeeze it for a minute. 60 seconds. Count. One baby elephant, two baby elephants… Torture. But you are sure you are not doing any damage because your lubricated hand is not so very different from the inner surface of your foreskin, which after all causes no pain when it is in contact with your glans.

Your boy friend. Could he help? Guys are often very private about problems here, and it might be a delicate matter to explain to him that your head is hypersensitive, but that it might be OK if he’s very gentle. The contact of his oral mucosa on your glans should not cause pain, as this should be similar to the contact made by your inner foreskin.

What happens when you retract underwater in the bath? Can you keep it back for a while? Supposing you can do this, and you’ve been doing a daily sixty-second squeeze for a week or so. The next thing might be to wear it back for an hour. Pull the skin back then put on some close-fitting briefs. Again, the agony. But you know you can bear it for a least a minute, so you can now build up to several hours.

All this is roughly equivalent to what your glans would go through if you opted for circumcision. But you are in control here. Circumcision, on the other hand, “will expose my glans 100% and I won't have any option then.” If circumcision would make it bearable – after several weeks of considerable discomfort no doubt - then you will almost certainly be able to manage this on your own.

It seems to me there are some rather good reasons for not choosing circumcision. The foreskin contains a huge number of very erogenous nerve endings. A well-trained foreskin acts like a super-erotic film of lubricant. But this is a very clever film of lubricant, as it generates erotic sensations when it moves. Artificial lubricants just don’t compare. It’s an excellent mechanism, and when you get it working smoothly, it’s an impressive thing to see – and also an intensely impressive thing to feel.

I used to have a tight foreskin and a hypersensitive glans, but after a fair bit of training my foreskin is loose and my glans is no longer all that sensitive. These days, it’s probably no more sensitive than an average circumcised glans. A good deal of my best erotic sensations are generated in my foreskin. It would be a pity to loose these.

Intact penises need training, though few people seem to articulate this consciously. Circumcision could be regarded as a rather brutal means of removing this need for training.

Good luck.
