Good suggestions, Michael. Only thing is...they've been tried countless times on this site and others without much success, Ralesk indicated. In a sense this anarchic system is superior to the alternative. Go to such sites as Circlist and Procirc, where absolutely NO dissent is allowed and see their fuzzy-wuzzy pseudo-intellectual take on circumcision. It's almost enough to induce reverse peristalsis.
Last week a young fellow from GBritain dared question the Circlist philosophy on their site. When he was challenged by their resident "scholars" he roundly trounced them in all fields: medicine, theology, history...you name it. It was a rout so complete that it took one's breath away. Of course he was banished before nightfall, lest he embarrass them further. The Circlist regulars are back, again, to giving themselves self-congratulations on a circ well done. Or was it number two, or three, or... .
The point is that a bit of controversy never hurt anyone...it keeps one's mind finely honed, though I have to agree that there is often a bit of overkill here that can be wearying. It's a bit like Churchill's statement though...to the effect that democracy is the worst form of government save for all the rest.
Stick around and you will quickly learn on which messages to concentrate your attention...and on which to read for amusement...or would that be amazement?
>I'm still here,watching,...and this board fills up with bullshit and acrimonious prattle quicker than a Denny's after the bar lets out.
>Could I make a suggestion?...
>How about the "AJ" camp and the "Jim" camp both put down thier cute little remarks and snipes, stop acting like grade-school kids on Ritalin at recess, and focus on giving the advices they're both inclined to,without the stupid cross-arguing,and flame-throwing?
>I think you all seem like chatroom slugs when you behave like that.
>It would serve the noble purpose of this forum MUCH better if you "stopped the violence",and simply concentrated on giving your attention to the newcomers, who will probably see your expertise as phony the more you carp and backbite each other.
>Look,...I know circumsision is as controversial an issue as abortion is,but do us all a favor, and stop acting like you desperately need to prove each other wrong.
>I think it would be a much better idea if you all just simply stated your cases to each newcomer, and dropped all the fighting and shuffling for position.
>If you continue in your idiocy,I'm sure those who come here for assistance will sooner or later cease to do so,because they will see you all as a bunch of chumps who like nothing more than argueing amongst each other, helping:no one.
