As an answer to: BXO : more questions and yes I read the archive written by Steve at 20 Dec 2002 07:47:50:

> Has anyone else used this thuja oil? results?

Well, I can't help you with that one, I'm afraid.

> Im currently using a steriod cream to treat and im having mixed results. The white patch is gone and the "leathery" texture has returned back to normal.

If it is all normal, why do you need to continue the steroid? I should preface, my local dermatologist advises to use the steroid (as you will realise by now, I prefer the ointment form) only as long as needed to settle the condition, then to stop it, and of course, start again as soon as there is any recurrence.

> Ive also gotten tears on the underside of the gland (during sex) is this from the steroid thinning the skin?

Hard to say - it may be, unless that area was affected by the condition already, or indeed you have some "thrush" there anyway - unfortunately, the steroid does reduce your body's immunity to Candida, and therefore you should probably use an anti-fungal as well.

> What are the long term affects of the steriod cream?

Thinning of the skin, as you say, and susceptibility to "Thrush"/ Candida. You don't want to use it more than necessary.

> also it seems that my aim is getting worse and worse its almost like the opening in the gland is closing. Is this from the steriod or the Bxo?

It would more likely be BXO to do that, but if this is the same area as the cracking, and not where you originally had the problem, it may be a reaction to Candida.

> I have an appointment with my urologist next week what else should I ask him.

Nothing special that I recall at present. I can only suggest making sure you are using an anti-Candida treatment (perhaps orally) whether or not you are using the steroid, and you should be using the steroid in minimal amount only, sufficient to rub into (so it disappears and cannot spread,) the areas you previously identified as affected by the condition, and no other areas.
