Foreskin on erection

That's actually a rather strange, possibly even "perverse" way of putting it - it seems to imply that there is some reason that you perhaps should be circumcised, that you feel it is somehow a legitimate procedure, which it most certainly is not. Well, at least in civilised countries it is not legitimate to mutilate girls, so why should it be to do so to boys? The term "intact" or "intact foreskin" seems to express the situation better.

> I was just wondering if it is normal for the foreskin to NOT retract during an erection.

Most certainly. Presuming that is, that you can retract it, easily, if you try. In which case, it will probably sit behind the edge (the "corona" - "crown") of the glans until you pull it forward again. Equally, it is normal for it to retract with an erection, but you will hopefully be able to pull it forward easily to cover the glans.

> It is abnormal for the foreksin to still cover the penis during erection?

Nope. Perfectly normal - if you can retract it when you want to.

What is desirable, whether "normal" or not, but it probably is, is that the foreskin slides easily over the glans and back again, because when it does this, during intercourse, it covers the glans on the out-stroke and minimises the loss of lubrication - "juices" that you need to keep the thrusting silky and pleasant, particularly if you plan on spending a fair while during intercourse.

Without this action, and particularly for circumcised men where the corona acts like a "scraper" and actually drags the lubrication out on each stroke, intercourse is nowhere near as gentle and women easily find it dry and irritating. Now of course, as soon as they notice it to be uncomfortable, they lose their focus on the enjoyment and stop producing the lubrication, and things become rapidly quite uncomfortable. A circumcised man, whose exposed glans has become de-sensitised by exposure, may not be aware of this and may even desire the rougher stimulation, but tends to have to "get it over with" before the woman starts to object.

All this by way of context to explain that it really does not matter at all whether your foreskin retracts or does not on erection, this is merely a person-to-person variation, as long as it can easily slip from one extreme to the other. If it is too tight to slip, then the advice given elsewhere in this forum regarding stretching it until it does so, applies.
