As an answer to: Trouble With Retracting My Foreskin! written by Mark at 13 Jan 2003 19:21:43:

>Hello, I just turned 19 years old and I have trouble retracting my foreskin. I have had this problem for many years now and I finally want to do something about it.
>My Problem:
>The problem is that my foreskin is too tight. When erect I can only reveal the very tip of my glans therefore the hole is just about big enough to pee through. After doing some research I found out that people with this problem could get infections as the foreskin swells when passing urine. This can cause some urine to stay behind the foreskin, which causes the infection. Lucky for me I have not had any infections or felt any discomfort in any way.
>The only time I feel any pain is when I pee. The foreskin swells up and my glans burn slightly. This pain gets worse especially when I am desperate to go to the toilet. I also get pain during sexual intercourse with my girlfriend especially when my penis is not properly lubricated. After sex, my penis feels a little sore but after an hour or so after sex, it feels perfectly fine. Before telling my mother about my problem, I found out some methods of stretching on the internet. I tried these methods for about three months and I saw very little success. I tried using smooth objects to help stretch my foreskin such as a pen but all I got was a little discomfort and no success. After the three months I saw very little improvement and decided to consult a doctor.
>I found this very tough as I felt very embarrassed and I also felt embarrassed when telling my girlfriend about my problem, but she was very understanding. The doctor said that I didn’t really have much of a problem as I was still able to urinate through my penis. I was shocked with his reaction to my problem. I could easily get an infection at any time if my problem is not fixed. He also told me that many doctors do not like to perform circumcisions. After talking it over with my mother, she is willing to pay for me to get it done privately. Before I go for this option I would very much like to get some useful advice on what I should do. On this website I found this piece of information:
>Degree of Phimosis related to Treatment
>Full Phimosis where the foreskin is fully unretractable when either flaccid or erect. - (An operation would probably entail a partial circumcision).
>This describes my problem and it suggests that a partial circumcision is the correct diagnosis. Should I consult a doctor and go for surgery to get my problem fixed ? Is a partial circumcision the best option (I don’t like the idea of a full circumcision) ? Please give me any useful advice, I will be so grateful for your help. Also I have read some peoples experiences with partial circumcisions and they all seemed pleased with their results.
>Thanks, Mark.

Gee whizz, Mark, your words have the ring of familiarity. Could the person with the "partial circumcision" be anyone we know? It's an oxymoron, you know: "partial circumcision". You are either circumcised or you are not. The three months of stretching with "smooth objects", the "embarrassment" about consulting a doctor, the reliance for information on this "website", all sound vaguely, even chillingly familiar. It's almost as though we are in a time warp.

Be that as it may, I'd suggest that you go get a "full" circumcision, however that differs in your mind from a "partial". Then, after the several months of healing, you can return to tell us how "stretching doesn't work for everyone"; how we shouldn't presume to know anything at all about stretching skin, when we aren't, most of us, doctors; how sticking things down one's foreskin is weird; how 17 years of experience is suspect; how bizzare are our interests in preventing INTACT boys from mutilating themselves, when a good old circumcision will fix them right up....yes, go ahead and do it.

Of course, if you have any sense at all, you won't listen to THAT advice, you'll teach yourself how to use your fingers...to do the things that neither your mother, your father, your pediatrician, or your own instincts told you to do as a boy...to use your hands and fingers to "use" your foreskin until it does stretch. There are numerous instructions detailing "how" on this site. As you seem to be familiar with this "website", I'm sure that you have read them. As all of your thrust in this message is toward circumcision, however, we must assume that genital mutilation is where you plan to go. So go.
