From your description it works just like how it is intended: no pain, rolls up, not tight, etc. Of course the penis head gets reddish-purplish! It fills up with blood. This is perfectly natural. I do not think there is any problem with your penis from your description.
And since there is no pain and you can retract well --- what would give reason to "fix" anything?
