Ahh, now you're talking about the dorsal slit itself, rather than the anaesthetic. Fair go! Give it a few days!

It's the very fact that the foreskin is so mobile - not attached to the penis underneath, so it can slide so easily as it needs to over the glans, that makes it swell up so much when injured, you see.

Now the only two things (out of the standard injury management - "RICE" = Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) you can really do, are to keep it well supported - tight but comfortable undies, and ice packs if it gets really annoying.
