fungal infection?

After doing my stretching for a couple of months using hydrocortisone cream, I have suspended the use of the cream and continued just with the stretching because it seemed like I was beginning to have an adverse reaction to the cream. I was starting to get some tiny white spots on my my foreskin and a whitened area on the tip of my gland. I heard that the hydrocortisone may cause a fungal infection so I suspended this was the deal and I suspended the use of the cream hoping this would solve the problem. Almost a month has passed since I last used the cream and the white is still there and it's getting slightly itchy. Can anybody suggest what I should do? Whether wait some more for it to pass or ask my doctor to prescribe something?
