As an answer to: Re: Possible yeast infection. written by Val at 13 Feb 2003 11:48:20:
Why don't you confront your doctor about the nurse walking in unannounced? Of course there's always the possibility that she's has been asked to intrude...to protect the doctor from false accusations or some such thing. That circumstance is a problem with a few doctors in the USA. Some of them are required to have a third person on hand during a consultation. Others are required to keep the door ajar. It can get really 'sticky' at times.
Unsure as to which of these products would be available here in the UK (if I'm not mistaken you are in Australia, right?) and not wanting to go into lengthy discussions with the chemist asking me what I need this for while people are queuing up behind me, I have preferred to walk in knowing which specific product to ask for. So I went to see my doctor who this time reassuringly enough didn't just accept my diagnosis that it was a fungal infection and asked me to see for herself. She confirmed it and prescribed Canesten which I'm going to start using in a minute. Annoyingly enough, the doctor's nurse hasn't lost her habit of walking into the consultation room without knocking.
