Indeed it was, indeed it was. It was a taunt whose significance depends on a particular view of reality, and therefore carries the implication that not only is AJ wrong on the current matter, but has a wrong concept of reality and morality as well. But it's a pretty esoteric point.

I most certainly understand Jim's point of view, though I don't happen to share it. The Bible is our ultimate and absolute reference on morality (and ethics) - I accept that unreservedly, but it is a mistake to attempt to extend that to cover science - the study of physical reality.

However I don't get too fussed over people who do use it to substitute for science, unless - as ever - it interferes with the health, freedoms and expectations of others, and most significantly their children. Dispute over the nitty-gritty of evolution is most unlikely to impinge upon that, except perhaps where it deprives students with higher potential, of the scientific education needed to enter that particular discipline.
