Actually, to be truthful, and it's hard to say exactly how much these two uses of terms actually derive from one another, but the term "uncut" is frequently used in the connotation of a movie, being the version which has not been censored or unnecessarily shortened simply for the purposes of vulgar marketing for cinema or television, so "uncut" does to a degree already connote the "real" or "genuine" version which anyone with any discretion whatsoever, would demand.
