>Does the UK NHS still provide them free if you go to the doctor?

No. I think it does only if you are on benefits.

>Yes, you should use just water. The thing is, your understanding of "hygiene" is perhaps simplistic, indeed the question is: what would make you think that your body would require any "product" in this area?

I could reverse your question and ask what should have made me think that this particular area was different from the rest of my body in that it didn't require the use of any product? I've always used soap and similar products to wash and have never experienced any problems before now.

>So, believe it! Your troubles are almost certainly due to improper use of a foreign substance: Soap! No wonder it has been a problem for so long!

Well, I certainly hope you are right. In all cases, it's quite depressing to face my doctor's total lack of interest in trying to find a reason behind all this. At no point did she inquire about whether I was using any soap, eating anything particular. When I went to her the other day I told her that the cream she had prescribed had had no effect and she just said ok, sort of meaning, anything else I can do for you? So since she didn't say anything I just asked if she could prescribe the Daktarin cream you had suggested. She said OK, gave me the prescription and that was it. She didn't ask to see this infection that I've now had for about 2 months. I guess I have to look for another doctor.

Incidentally, the other day Jim said something about using yogurt because the bacteria in it could fight the yeast. This made me think of the fact that for a month now i've been taking Yakult (I don't know if you are familiar with this product), it contains Lactobacillus Casei Shirota so I started thinking about whether this could be something that could have some effect on the infection but apparently it's supposed to be good against candida.

If you think the pics can be of help, you are welcome to use them or leave them posted somewhere on the internet, but please not in a subfolder called val_25.

>I don't necessarily think one has to go specifically to a urologist

But look how helpful it's been for me to see a GP... Maybe a urologist will actually take a look at it to see what the problem might be. Anyway, like I said, for the time being my priority is the yeast infection so I'm not thinking too much about what doctor to see about the adhesions.

Thanks again for your opinion that I have come to value considerably. Even though you called my hygiene simplistic. ;)
