Congratulations John. Diabetes is something you don't want to fool around with.
Don't worry about clinging to the stuffy English spellings. Americans seem able to communicate quite well after having simplified many words with redundant letters. Even so, we still use the latin "frenulum" when "frenum" is correct according to Webster (Daniel).
