When it's erect, I can still retract the foreskin, but it's very tight and mildy uncomfortable, pulling it back over the glan creates a slight pain due to the sensitive glan being "squeezed" by the foreskin rolling over it.

OK then, we now know exactly where we are.

>I have been doing the 2 main stretching excercises (pulling outwards away from the body and pulling on the hole to enlarge its diameter).

You have heard from a few "voices" now that if you can get two fingertips inside and pull outward, this is the single most effective exercise and therefore the one on which you should concentrate.

> I've been doing this for about 3 months sometimes once a day, sometimes once every other day. I do see improvements, but it's not very very slow.

You need to "up the ante". It's going to take a long while doing it every other day, but the time is going to reduce in proportion to how often you do it, probably more so than how long you stretch each time, though that's very important too. So the suggestion is that every time you go to pee in private, you get those fingers in, and give it a stretch for say, a minute, 30 seconds if you don't have a minute, just do it as they say! Every time you shower (if you had a bath, you'd automatically do it as you'd be lying, staring at it).

You haven't mentioned a girlfriend. Not relevant at this stage? If you did, she should be involved too.

> I was hoping the betamethsone oinkment would help accelerate this process.

And indeed it would. What bad experiences do people have with the Hydrocortisone? Well, only that it does not work and that (just as the Betamethasone may,) it may encourage the development of "thrush" infection which is very counterproductive and you have to treat that. The risk might be worth it if you were going to get a really good result, but to take the risk and not get the maximum benefit, is dodgy.

And for Hydrocortisone, the OTC 0.5% is only "half strength" anyway, a script would be for 1%, so now I come to think of it the "Urologist" was really out to screw you either way.

> Looks like I might have better luck with going to see my dermatologist next week.

I do hope we have given you the "good oil" to get a move on and forget the doctors, but if you are going to see him anyway (for something else we must presume), then you can see what he says.

Finally, Jim has given you the real "power tool" suggestion. We don't get too enthusiastic about advertising this, because of the presence here of a first-grade moron who loves to parody it as "shoving objects made in woodwork class down your foreskin", but using a dilator worn most or all of the time is, if you are unlike the detractor, blessed with a little common-sense, extremely effective - that is, fast - and without the cream. It is well-documented for various purposes in medical and non-medical practice, though not for this particular application, simply because to date, it has not been used that commonly by doctors - lack of demand.

In particular, the "foreskin restoration" sites (for which you can easily search and research) offer as one option, the use of devices such as the PUD (Penile Uncircumcising Device) for the related purpose of stretching the remnants of a penile mutilation (circumcision) to "restore", as far as possible, a foreskin. This is a very slow process as you might anticipate, much harder than what you yourself want, and so a device to assist the process is very valuable.

In your case, as Jim details, the trick is to find some device that you can "wear" inside the foreskin opening just as you presently briefly stretch with your fingers, but to stretch most of the time. Such a device needs to be "biocompatible" - it must not contain nickel while copper alloys will stain (temporarily) and may irritate. Pure aluminium, stainless steel, silver or gold are OK! Of course, plastic is usually appropriate. It must be smooth so it does not cut or chafe, and of course, the right size to be a snug fit on the stretch, but not uncomfortable, and the right shape - cylindrical.

If it tapers slightly and you can get the larger end inward, that will be an advantage as it will tend to stay in place. A thimble would certainly fit the bill, but would have to be quite large; a film canister is almost perfect if you are ready for it, and corks (or plastic bungs) may suit insofar as you can get different sizes, but tend to get dirty and red rubber may irritate.

So there's a thought - but it is very much up to your ingenuity and I repeat - commonsense - to make use of it. Some have tried and been found lacking on one or other of these, so we do not advise it for everybody.
