Kilda, unfortunately there are only a few options open to you. 1) Surgical intervention (there are several surgery types that can resolve the problem), 2) Stretching, or 3) Just live with it. The problem will not go away on it's own.
I can understand the position you are in, as I've been there myself. However, as much as you don't want to, seeing your GP or a specialist (which is probably a better idea if you are in the UK) is a good idea. If you really don't want to go and discuss your options with a qualified professional then you are limted to stretching or just doing nothing. Sadly, while stretching can work for some, it does not work in all cases and doing nothing will result in nothing. I know it's a bitch of a situation to be in, but if you don't make the decision to change, then nothing will change.
