I could have gotten names mixed up, but I had thought that Rood's teenage angst over non-retractability, as well as a lack of information about stretching, eventually led him to get cirucmcised in his very early 20s, which he soon thereafter began regretting. He became active in NORM-Phoenix (National Organization of Restoring Men) - not to be confused with NORML. He has helped coach hundreds of men in restoration of their foreskins, although he is the first to acknowledge that while it gives the protective functions, restoration never provides the sensual advantages of the original equipment.
