I would strongly advise that you keep your appointment with the specialist. At least that way you will be getting the input of a qualified objective individual.

Stretching works for some, but not for others.

Are you doing the right thing? That's up to you to decide. People here will try and influence and scare you away from seeking a professional opinion regardless of what you think is right. However, when you see the specialist at least you know that you are seeing a real qualified doctor and not some kooky guy on the internet who thinks he knows better.
