As an answer to: Re: Doctors... written by Anonymous2 at 25 Apr 2003 18:55:35:
>You all make much noise about nothing. AJ is right. Stitches in a healthy body shouldn't remain there longer than max. 10 - 12 days. Normally 8 days are sufficient.
Neither of us has ever said anything like "stitches should remain there forever" --- what is your point?
>Okay, he didn't tell the obvious things, like to use sharp scissors or a good nail cutter and to cut only once per stitch. Your arguments would be correct if AJ had advised to use non-sharp scissors! All tools (also tweezers are useful) should be sterilized in boiling water or a flame.
>If the stitches stay longer in the skin tissue, there could start an infection. So you have to remove them on time. If you think a doctor or nurse will do a better job than yourself, who's keeping you from going? Our reaction is about AJ's double standards this time, nothing else. If you would actually OPEN your eyes and read what he have been trying to tell, you'd realise it's not about AJ's preference of doing it for himself, nor is it about AJ suggesting that after N days the stitches should be removed, it's about how AJ /always/ parrots about how everyone should consult a doctor and NOW when there can han happen that you shove a whole scissor in your freshly operated-on cock, he doesn't utter a warning, simply because the situation -- that certain person opted for a circumcision rather than stretching -- /probably/ favours his preferences, as how our suggestions about quite less dangerous things (I say again, how can you use a soft cork made of cork which is smooth and NOT plastic, in a way that you could injure yourself with it DIRECTLY?) do NOT favour him, he would in every possible moment call for a consultation with a doctor.
Obviously, if I ever had this done, I would go back to the doctor for stitch removal. I do see that any person who wants to, WILL do so, as you pointed out. But again, it really is about AJ's interesting double-standards.>This issue shows your petty attitude towards physical treatments and your ambiguous behaviour. You are advising persons about treatments of tight foreskins, that can perform much more radical changes and certain risks than the removal of some stitches. You hypocrites!
Quite less radical changes than a circumcision, so let's stop at that, 'k?
As for the removal of stitches with a sharp and /possibly/ THOUGH not /necessarily/ dangerous object versus the stretching where you have exact control over your own fingers, I don't think your own fingers would be less controllable than scissors. Quite the other way around.
I'm not quite against that people remove them for themselves. If they want to, sure. But if we here are about trying to give safe advices, let alone preaching to other people about giving safe advices, then please for the love of dragons, let's not be HYPOCRITES, and apply the rule to ourselves, right? So AJ, it'd be nice if you followed your own rules of "safety".I hope my point can be seen clearly now.
