You know, back when circ was routine for ALL babies, the amount of the circ was up to the Dr doing it. I've heard of "trimming" being done....where they actually did what you're describing. I remember reading about it on a circ site as well, and I believe they even had some photos. It's not as uncommon as it seems. :-(
