An article in the May 2003 edition of Details magazine states the the number of men who have used skin expansion techiniques suggested by NORM worldwide has exceeded 40,000. Such news certainly proves that no small number of men have been adversely affected by genital mutilation, and that they are upset enough over the situation to take matters into their own hands by using proven techniques that the medical community and primitive African tribes have been using for many, many years.

The article describes the most recent adherrents to the movement to be "young and pissed."
