Hmmmm...Well, it can hurt to be jumped on, but the constant threat helps keep a man on his toes and one's post generally to the point, saving everyone time in the end. Reading corrected or challenged posts is also a valuable learning experience, which I wouldn't do without. It's fascinating how often another point of view clarifies, simplifies and expands an idea. Living in a vacuum can be useful, but one always needs to come out for air and a sense of reality now and then. Read any pro-circ thread and one is amazed at the lack of perspective they evince, and the parochial nature of their "gentlemanly" discourse. Give me honest, arrogant criticism every time over that depressing and tragic scene.
