Again, it must enter the bloodstream or lymph system to survive. While sex often can cause microscopic tears where the virus can enter, particularly if lubrication is insufficient, it need not do so. This is particularly the case with vaginal sex. Anal sex very often causes such tears. It would seem that the Ashes made love gently - he must have been intact.
