Textbook definitions would reply with "yes", during erection, your penis should grow out of the foreskin, automatically exposing all of the glans.

However, in practice, there is a large numebr of males whose foreskin is long enough to continue to cover part/all of head during erection, so the textbook definition reflects only a certain number of males, not the whole population, just like leonardo,s perfect male doesn't reflect all males.

What is important is that you can easily slide the foreskin down to fully expose the head during erection.

And in terms of it continuing to cover head during erection, it is quite common/widespread before puberty. During puberty, a certain percentage of population does outgrow their foreskins enough that during erection, retraction becomes automatic.

But there is very little credible scientific documentation on this aspect of the foreskin. The rapid anti-circ folks will tell you that a foreskin should cover the glans at all times, even during erection, but that doesn't reflect reality either.
