>Don't call me that. I'm very much against the European Union, because I want Norway to be governed by the Norwegian people, not by a bunch of Germans and Polacs or whatever.

Hmmm....and if a "Polen" or a "tysker" wished to become a citizen of Norge, would he or she have an opportunity to govern one day?

>However, using "inches" and "feet" is just simply out of date. The de facto standard is the metric system. It's what people in most countries use (with a few exceptions). It's what ALL scientists use (incl. American ones).

Yes...We attempted to change over some 25 years ago by stages...starting with speed dials on vehicles registering both km and miles, plus distance signs which noted both km and miles. It went over like a lead balloon. I can attest to feeling clumsy when using the metric system for design...inches and feet, while "outdated" work so well, especially when everything here is measured in inches and feet: bricks, wood, steel, roofing, flooring...everything. Cocks, too.

>And the de facto version of English is American English, because most people are exposed to English through American movies and series. Therefore I write "apologize". I do admit, however, that sometimes English is cool, too, like when I hear the Osbournes talk.

Who are the Osbournes? James Mason had the finest diction. He was undoubtedly before your time, but check out his work in "A Star is Born", "Lolita", "The Boys from Brazil", or perhaps Hitchcock's "North by Northwest".

>P.S: how is the situation in Hungary regarding EU membership? Are you invited? If so, will the people decide, or the politicians? When will that decision take place? What are you gonna vote?

And Norway? Where would the country be without oil? Even aluminum manufacturing has crashed, not to mention cod.
