frenuloplasty healing question

I had a frenulolasty a couple of days ago. The doctor saw it yesterday and he said that the healing process goes well. The area around the frenulum is a bit swollen, but that's ok, it will pass after 2-3 days. The problem is that I can't retract yet because of the pain from the stiches and the swelling of the area, so it's difficut to wash. I suppose this is normal, right? How long should I wait until it is comfortable to retract and wash?
