We can sit here with our thumbs up our ass and discuss whether a trojan is truly a virus, or whether AJ dresses up in mommy's clothes and parades in front of the mirror....it really doesn't matter....
My original quote simply said: And 2 of the pop ups contained trojans.
I never clicked 'ok' or anything. It doesn't mean my computer will melt down, but there are plenty of embedded things in java and html. It's as tho I downloaded one of their programs and then it found it. It simply came up after one of the many pop ups came up. It tells you the file that has the issues, and where it's located, and what action needs to be taken.
>>Btw, EVERYTHING that installs stuff without your explicit permission is a virus. OK, JavaScript prohibits access to the disk or the memory, however I'm sure IE accepts other scripts that have direct access to the memory (and once you do that, you can run Interrupt calls). All C programs have direct access to RAM, and I think C script languiages have it too.
>First off, please ignore the AJ impersonator that has posted underneath. On to the subject - I understand what you are saying about Gator. However, while the Gator software may indeed carry trojans that run when the software is installed, the Gator program itself is not a trojan. It also an optional download which is easily ignored.
