Penis pain

About 5 days ago I developed this pain in my penis. There is an area on the top and side of the penis that is harder than the other areas. If I touch these areas it is tender. When I get an erection it is painful. Apparently we males get erections in our sleep every night. I get woken up every night now with an erection and this pain. This condition appeared in my penis suddenly 5 days ago and I do not recall any injuries to the penis area. Any ideas what this could be?
